On 14th January the Nottingham Performance Centre players, including SJBC’s Dan Whaley, Emma Hooper and Eleanor Collins, were invited to practice with some of the University of Nottingham’s National Badminton League team including world no. 5 and 2014 Commonwealth Games gold medallist Chris Adcock and SJBC coach Kevin’s daughter, Alex Langley.

The next home NBL match is against Loughborough on Monday 26th January.

Christmas Big Session – 13th December 2014

Big Session Winners

Great big session to end the first half of the season. Winners of the first session mini-tournament were Owen Williams (captain), Vicky Mendez, Toby Scattergood, Harry Scattergood, Hope Sommers, Toby Eastgate and Jack Hall.

Second session winners were Devang Nigam, Emma Hooper, Sophie Adams, Alisdair Hollows (captain), Josie Ellingham, Felix Gray and Oliver Stewart.

Big Session – 25th October 2014

On Saturday  25th October we held our first Big Session Mini-tournament of this season. The tournament consisted of a mixture of singles and doubles games. In the first session, the winners were Josie Ellingham (captain), Matthew Hooper, Vicky Mendez and Ben Yates and in the second session, the winning team was Sophie Adams (captain), Emma Hooper, Sofia Aujla-Jones, Arthur Mizen, Devang Nigam and Lucas Eden. Well done everyone.

Nottinghamshire Restricted Tournament Finals – 28th September 2014

 

Well done to all the SJBC players who entered the county restricted tournament, played over the last two weekends. At U13, Sofia Aujla-Jones was in impressive form winning the girls’ singles, doubles and mixed doubles; Michael Penn won the boys doubles. At U15, Emma Hooper won girls’ and mixed doubles and was runner-up in girls’ singles. At U17, Heather Walker won girls’ singles and mixed doubles; Emma Hooper was runner-up in girls’ doubles and got a bronze medal in girls’ singles. Great results for SJBC!
