Dan Whaley, Emma Hooper and Heather Walker entered the U17 Notts Bronze on Sunday. Plenty of matches won all round and Heather came away with a silver medal in Girls Singles.

Well done to all the SJBC players who entered the county restricted tournament, played over the last two weekends. At U13, Sofia Aujla-Jones was in impressive form winning the girls’ singles, doubles and mixed doubles; Michael Penn won the boys doubles. At U15, Emma Hooper won girls’ and mixed doubles and was runner-up in girls’ singles. At U17, Heather Walker won girls’ singles and mixed doubles; Emma Hooper was runner-up in girls’ doubles and got a bronze medal in girls’ singles. Great results for SJBC!
We held our final Big Session of the 2013/14 season on Saturday 24th May and said goodbye to several Year 12s , some of whom have been with us for many years!! Thanks to Holly Clarke for the farewell cakes.
First session winners were Ollie Hall, Amy Bruce, Olivia Green, Barney Miller, Owen Williams, Matthew Hooper, Hope Sommers and Allesia Barnard-Pasqualone. Winners in the second session were Oliver Sanderson, Isaac Sommers, Josie Ellingham, Alistair Hollows, June Ng and Arthur Mizen. See everyone in September.
The Attewell Tournament is the most long-standing and prestigious local tournament for Nottinghamshire juniors who have not represented the county in the last two years. This year 8 of our members entered with excellent success in the U15 age group.
Molly Wade won U15 Girls Singles, Girls Doubles and Mixed. Fabulous hat-trick. Well done.
Oliver Stewart won U15 Boys Doubles with James Wade and Mixed Doubles with Molly.

Winners of the first session were Owen Williams, Rosie Hardwick, Amy Bruce, Finn Durkin, Toby Eastgate and Matthew Hooper. Second session winners were Alistair Hollows Isaac Sommers, Josie Ellingham, Molly Wade, Sam Brakewell and Owen Orledge. Well played everyone!
Five of SJBC’s girls, Sophie Morley, Chloe Jordan, Rachel Cutts, Heather walker and Fran Baisley represented the Minster School in the Regional Round of the KS4 Inter-Schools Badminton Championships. They played valiantly but ended up with silver medals , having lost two games 21-20 to the eventual winners! Bad luck and well done everyone.
Seven SJBC members, Maisie Cutts, Sophie Morley, Fran Baisley, Rachel Cutts, Heather Walker, Chloe Jordan and Behram Khan represented the Minster School at the County Round of the Inter-schools Badminton KS4 Competition. The girls won convincingly and so go through to the Regional Round on 11th March. Well played everyone!
