Young Officials Award – 25th July 2013
Six of our members, Anna Roehricht, Holly Clarke, Adam Mullen, Maisie Cutts, Chloe Jordan and Dan Whaley, attended a Badminton England Young Officials Award course organised by the Newark and Sherwood Community Badminton Network.
This 4-hour course is aimed at young people aged 14-19 and contains a combination of practical and theory sessions designed to equip the candidate with the necessary skills and a qualification that will allow them to officiate at badminton events. Following the course, they will be supported to gain experience as an official during club sessions. Once they have done this they will receive a Certificate of Completion and will be directed towards officiating at badminton competitions, starting with low level events, and leading onto some being selected to officiate at high profile events.
