Congratulation to Emma Hooper on winning a gold medal in Girls’ Doubles at the Badminton England Under 15 bronze tournament in Leicester. Emma also got a bronze medal in Girls’ Singles.

Well done to Sofia Aujla-Jones, Heather Collins, Imogen Christison and Izzy Mullen who represented the Minster School against Joseph Whitaker School in the District Round of the Inter-School Competition. Good luck in the County Round girls!
Nottingham University vs MK Badminton – 3rd November 2014
About 15 members, ex-members, parents and coaches from SJBC attended the first National Badminton League match in Nottingham last night. Great entertainment – looking forward to the next home match in January!

York U15 bronze – 2nd November 2014
Big Session – 25th October 2014
On Saturday 25th October we held our first Big Session Mini-tournament of this season. The tournament consisted of a mixture of singles and doubles games. In the first session, the winners were Josie Ellingham (captain), Matthew Hooper, Vicky Mendez and Ben Yates and in the second session, the winning team was Sophie Adams (captain), Emma Hooper, Sofia Aujla-Jones, Arthur Mizen, Devang Nigam and Lucas Eden. Well done everyone.
U17 Nottinghamshire Bronze Tournament – 12th October 2014
Dan Whaley, Emma Hooper and Heather Walker entered the U17 Notts Bronze on Sunday. Plenty of matches won all round and Heather came away with a silver medal in Girls Singles.
Well done all.
Nottinghamshire Restricted Tournament Finals – 28th September 2014
Well done to all the SJBC players who entered the county restricted tournament, played over the last two weekends. At U13, Sofia Aujla-Jones was in impressive form winning the girls’ singles, doubles and mixed doubles; Michael Penn won the boys doubles. At U15, Emma Hooper won girls’ and mixed doubles and was runner-up in girls’ singles. At U17, Heather Walker won girls’ singles and mixed doubles; Emma Hooper was runner-up in girls’ doubles and got a bronze medal in girls’ singles. Great results for SJBC!
Big Session – 24 May 2014
We held our final Big Session of the 2013/14 season on Saturday 24th May and said goodbye to several Year 12s , some of whom have been with us for many years!! Thanks to Holly Clarke for the farewell cakes.
First session winners were Ollie Hall, Amy Bruce, Olivia Green, Barney Miller, Owen Williams, Matthew Hooper, Hope Sommers and Allesia Barnard-Pasqualone. Winners in the second session were Oliver Sanderson, Isaac Sommers, Josie Ellingham, Alistair Hollows, June Ng and Arthur Mizen. See everyone in September.
Attewell Tournament – 26th/27th April 2014
The Attewell Tournament is the most long-standing and prestigious local tournament for Nottinghamshire juniors who have not represented the county in the last two years. This year 8 of our members entered with excellent success in the U15 age group.
Molly Wade won U15 Girls Singles, Girls Doubles and Mixed. Fabulous hat-trick. Well done.
Oliver Stewart won U15 Boys Doubles with James Wade and Mixed Doubles with Molly.
James Wade won U15 Boys Doubles with Oliver and was Runner Up in Boys Singles.
Alice Hannah won U15 Girls Doubles with Molly.
